Carol W. flew to Maui in October 2020 and stayed at Hale Pau Hana. During her visit, she told us what it was like to travel during COVID-19, how it felt to be in Maui, and what she thought about our new cleaning protocols. Read on to learn more about her return to paradise!

“It's a 4-turtle-encounter swimming day at Hale Pau Hana today! Water has been pretty much smooth these days, though today is especially crystal clear!

“We are one of the owner families at Hale Pau Hana. My husband and I made our way back here on Oct 27th this year. Our trip to Maui was pretty much painless after we did our COVID test the day before our flight and uploaded it to the Hawaii state SafeTravel site. We received the QR codes on our phone and did the questionnaires which ensured us a very smooth screening process at the Kahului Airport. Within 15 minutes we picked up our luggage and got in our car heading “home.” No quarantine required — yeah!

As soon as we arrived at HPH, the serene scenery and relative quietness made us feel very safe. It is especially so because the resort has implemented some very strict cleaning and sanitizing protocols around the property, as well as inside rooms. We feel so well-taken care of. Many thanks for their above-beyond effort and attention to detail!

“Traffic is super nice these days too. Though restaurants are not fully open, many offer take-out orders or outdoor eating areas. The Coconut Fish Taco has their food truck right across the street which made it super convenient. Ironically, it's such an unique nice time being here without a busy crowd this time of the year. We are so glad that we are here right now!”
