There are many reasons why our guests return year after year — direct beach access, incredible views from morning to night, private lanais, and fully equipped units to name just a few. As we welcome a new year we’re also welcoming some new faces! If you’re considering your first trip, read on to find out what you’ll discover when you come to Hale Pau Hana.
Sunsets might get all the attention in Maui, but waking up in time for the sunrise is well worth it. Slide open your lanai doors and you’ll be greeted by singing birds, gentle waves, and salty air. With your favorite cup of coffee or tea in hand, we can’t think of a better way to begin the day!

You might already know that Hale Pau Hana is a beachfront property, but what you might not know is that you’ll also find an abundance of tropical flowers, plants, and trees around the grounds. The smell of plumeria fills the air, you’ll spot several varieties of hibiscus, and of course swaying palms. Keep an eye out for cute geckos and shorebirds as they enjoy the sun and shade on the front lawn.
“The view from our living room was spectacular, overlooking the pool and the ocean, and we enjoyed both to the fullest. With breathtaking sunsets, snorkeling, a nice grassy area with comfortable furniture for sunbathing, reclining and enjoying a book and a Mai Tai, what more could you ask for?”

If you’re looking to chill out you’ve found the right place! The hardest part is deciding where to sit back and read that book you’ve been meaning to finish. We suggest you find a poolside chair. If you’ve had a day at the beach or a morning island adventure, it’s the best place to hang out and cool off in the afternoon. Take a dip and enjoy the ocean view.
Got kids? We’ve got you covered! Kamaole Beach II is the best beach in South Kihei and it’s right outside your door. The sand is soft and the mellow waves will keep them entertained for hours. Every unit comes with two beach chairs — perfect for parents that deserve a break — and your unit is literally steps away when it’s time to freshen up that cold drink.
There’s just something about our lounge chairs. Everyone has their favorite spot to sit and look for whales or count the waves. Our guests love them so much that they even take pictures of them! Many a guest has said goodbye with, “Aloha, and save me my chair!” Once you sit down — or take a nap — in one you’ll find out why. With palms above and ocean views all around, you’ll soon have a favorite too.
Maui is full of incredible food. From food trucks to fine restaurants, you could eat out for every meal and never go to the same place twice. So why do so many guests choose to stick around Hale Pau Hana for lunch and dinner? The grills! If you like to cook in the open air with the best views around you’re going to love grilling on the lawn. It’s a time-honored tradition here to share tips and techniques, like where to get the best steaks or the catch of the day. Table for two, anyone?
There’s no better place to be for the sunset. You’ll find this out when you see people start to gather down at the beach to watch another day in paradise come to an end. Every night is different, and every night is spectacular. Whether you like to watch the show while taking one last stroll on the beach or from the quiet of your lanai, this is the place to be when the sun goes down.
When it comes to celebrating family — by birth or by choice — Hale Pau Hana has a storybook history. Over five decades we’ve seen babies take their first steps, witnessed proposals, weddings, and 60th anniversaries, hosted family reunions and end-of-life celebrations. When you stay here, you’re ‘ohana! Discover Hale Pau Hana and find out why it feels like coming home.
“I’ve been coming here since I was born ... this place is amazing. It’s a new experience every time we come, but it always feels like home. ”
