If you have spent any time scrolling through Hale Pau Hana’s social media channels or looked on our website, there’s a good chance you’ve seen photos from Rich Miller. Rich and his wife, Jen, have visited Hale Pau Hana every year since July 2015 (except for 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic).
An amateur photographer, Rich has been kind enough to share his photos with us through the years. They are a treasure trove of images that provide former, current and future guests an idea of everything Hale Pau Hana has to offer.
We asked Rich about what drew them to Hale Pau Hana, what keeps them coming back — and we asked to share photos from their most recent trip in May 2022.
We focused our research on places to stay that had very close access to the beach and ocean. Using Google maps to view the property was beneficial for sure.
The location is the number one reason for sure. Having access to the beach and ocean is what we enjoy most. In addition to that we enjoy the benefit of having a place to stay with a kitchen and outdoor grilling to save money on meal costs.
We typically visit in the summer because Jen is a high school teacher and has the extended time off during that time.
Thank you for the compliment. Just a hobby. I enjoy taking photos and sharing them with family, businesses and others via social media.
There is so much beauty on Maui so there is always something to photograph. Sunsets are our favorite, however.
We have travelled all over the island. We have seen almost everything there is to see. The road to Hana front and back, Haleakala crater, the blowhole, Iao Valley, most of the great beaches including Red and Black Sand beaches, waterfalls, bamboo forests, rain forests, you name it.
We would tell them to cherish the visit. Enjoy every moment of it. Soak in the beautiful scenery and sunshine and just relax. Most importantly, never miss one of the amazingly beautiful sunsets.
Our best memories are the times we just float around in the ocean together enjoying the waves and the views all while watching the sea turtles swim by. There is nothing better than that!
We love to see your photos and to have you share your experiences. We hope you’ll follow us on our Facebook or Instagram pages to help us stay connected! Want to make your own memories at Hale Pau Hana? We’d love to have you stay with us!
