Summer is in full swing and what a wonderful time to visit Hale Pau Hana! The water is warm, the smell of gardenias is in the air, and there is plenty to do all around the island. Get a taste of what it’s like to visit paradise during the sunny season!
After you hear “Aloha!” and get your key, we recommend that you drop your suitcase and head down to the ocean immediately. Dip your toes, grab a nap in the shade, and take a deep breath. If this is your first time visiting us it might take a few minutes to realize that you’re not dreaming, and if you’re a long time ‘ohana you’ll likely head right to your favorite viewpoint. Welcome home!
After you’ve given yourself time to adjust to paradise, be sure to stock your kitchen with some local, delicious food. The Upcountry Farmers Market is back in action, and makes for a great day trip! And check out our earlier blog post for more ideas on where to find good eats on the island.
Zip-lining, snorkeling, hiking… there’s so much to do on Maui! But if you’re looking for something a bit more low-key, check out Island Art Party for a fun and casual painting class. Join a group, or book your own private class with some of your HPH ‘ohana. They offer family-friendly times as well so you can bring the kiddos. Just be sure to tag @thehalepauhana when you finish your masterpiece! :-)
You don’t have to go far to hear local music, and nightly bands are back on tap at Nalu’s! Just up the road from HPH and dedicated to showcasing Hawaiian music, you can check out their schedule here.
Your quiet retreat awaits after a day of island adventures! Recent guests have shared gorgeous photos of relaxing days around the grounds and quiet evenings grilling up their dinner oceanside. If you’ve stayed with us before you know that the grills are a favorite spot to gather with your family and friends, share stories, and raise a glass as the sun goes down. Just another summer day in paradise!
